July 9, 2010 at 11:43 am (books, Film and television, Mystery fiction)

The Swedish film version of The Girl Who Played with Fire is scheduled for released in the U.S. today, Friday July 9. You can watch the trailer on Internet Movie Database. (Some of us have yet to see The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, but we live in hope…)

The Man Who Left Too Soon, a biogrpahy of Stieg Larsson, came out in May. It is written by Barry Forshaw, author of of The Rough Guide To Crime Fiction.

Finally, Nora Ephron’s clever parody, “The Girl Who Fixed the Umlaut,” appeared in a recent edition of the New Yorker Magazine.

You’ve got to hand it to the guy: He’s enjoying one heck of an afterlife.

There should be a parody of “The Girl Who Fixed the Apostrophe.” Many copyeditors and proofreaders are up in arms over the U.S. edition of “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest,” especially blatant because the cover has no less than 13 hornets on it, and surely, a hornets’ nest is not for only one hornet.
