Baby 2.0, with a Halloween bonus feature!

I’ve had the swaddling lesson. Now there’s Tummy Time:

As you can see, this exercise requires great attentiveness on Dad’s part. As for Etta Lin, she’ll get a chance to flex those tiny muscles – maybe try to look up, look around, and wonder, “Run it by by me again: how did I get here??”

Meanwhile, here’s Mom looking fabulous just days after the birth of little Etta:

Here I am, a new grandmother, thrilled and deeply grateful:

For her first Halloween, Etta Lin is dressed up as a ladybug:

She is one of the cutest ladybugs ever! And, it’s hard to remember that she is only a few weeks old. She already has an expression on her face and looks like she has figured out some things already.

I always find it hard to believe how developed they are when they’re born and how quickly they grow. It amazes me no matter how many times I see it.

Thanks as always for your gracious comments, Kathy!

What I was not prepared for was the sudden uprush of feeling – like falling in love again, only different… but equally wonderful!

Can she be cuter? I would have had to pack that ladybug and bring her back to Maryland if I were you. Honestly, how do your resist? And Etta’s mom looks fantastic (as does her dad–good genes).

Thanks, Joanne. Always a pleasure to hear from you. We’re on our way out to the Windy to see the little Sprite this weekend!
